Blogger says their blog never expire, even if someone created an account and a blog and never make any post, or make a single post, and never update for a long time. This have caused much frustration to those who wants that particular blog URL, and it will double frustration if the creator of that blog never leave a way to be contacted.
However, with the introduction of New Blogger, a Blogger account is tied to the Google account, which means it is tied to the Gmail address if he/she has used a gmail address as the username to create a Blogger account. The Gmail policy says if the person who created that gmail address do not sign in for more than 9 months, the gmail address will be deleted. Now if that happens, what will happen to the Blogger account.
So what I will do is I will create a test gmail address, use that gmail address to start this blog for a year. I will not sign into the Gmail account. Neither I sign in this Blogger account for a year. Then I will check my gmail address and this blog after 1 year and see what happen.
For the record, the gmail address and the Blogger account is both opened on the same day, Thursday, 20 September 2007. Let us see what happen on on 19 September 2008.
